*RED FOX RALLY*

The Red Fox Rally is a Scholastic Cheer AND Dance competition.  It will be held on Sunday February 10th, 2008.  The competition is open to youth teams all the way through collegiate level cheer and dance teams.

About the Team

The 2007-2008 Marist College Cheerleading team is currently an all-girl squad. The team participates in all Football, Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball home games. The cheerleaders travel with the Men's and Women's Basketball teams to the MAAC tournament at the end of each season. The team also supports the Red Foxes at the NCAA tournament if either the Men's or Women's Basketball teams earn a bid.

Members of the 2007-2008 team earned a bid to NCA College Nationals while attending the NCA camp at Boston University in August.

In addition to performing at games and competitions, the Marist Cheerleading Team competes at the NCA College National Cheerleading Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. The team hosts an annual cheerleading competition at the McCann Center to fundraise for the trip to nationals.

Many members of the cheerleading team are also involved in community service. They are active in the Marist community and participate in a number of other clubs and organizations on campus.

Team Member Requirements:

- Attend three practices a week, lasting approximately 3 hours each.

-Follow a strength and conditioning program designed for the team.

- Participate in games, competitions and fundraisers.

Tryout Information:

Tryouts are currently scheduled for the beginning of the fall semester. All participants must be enrolled at Marist College. The cheerleading team is non-scholarship. Both men and women are encouraged to tryout for the team.

Tryouts consist of the prospective cheerleaders performing a cheer/chant, a dance, jumps, and any tumbling skills, all of which will be taught to them prior to them being judged. Participants will also be required to partake in a stunting clinic. Tumbling skills are NOT required, however, they are strongly preferred.

                                       Uniform Sale

Alumni please review the pictures and select the number uniform that you wish to purchase. Then please email us at MaristCheerleading@gmail.com with the number(s) that correspond to that uniform. The prices are set by you as it is a donation to the squad to allow us to go to Nationals in Daytona, Florida this year. We do ask that the minimum be $20. All checks can be made out to Marist Cheerleading and sent to the address at the bottom of this page. It will be done on a first come, first serve basis so email us today to guarantee you get the uniform you want! We hope you treasure this uniforms as a memory of the great times you shared on the squad! End date will be posted at a later time!
