Why Our Club Is Awesome!...

We, as fencers, are dedicated to balancing a professional standard required of fencing, as well as relaxing and just having fun. Fencing requires the mind capacity to judge the other fencer's motives correctly (or be met with cold hard steel plunging to the body), along with the physical strength and tenacity to execute a desired move. Here at Marist, our club has grown over the years, and will continue to with each passing year. New fencers who join usually know nothing about the sport, but after just a few months of learning the basics, they have become some optimal opponents. We have various "socials" throughout the school year that are not only a great way to get to know the more experienced fencers in the club, but also are ways to make life-long friendships. All-in-all, the fencing club is comprised of a pretty laid back group of people who love to feverishly hone their skills at sword fighting.
