MCCTA Board 2014-2015
President: Tara Higgins
Tara Higgins is the President of the Marist College Club of Theatre Arts. She is currently a senior working towards a Mathematics major, American Studies & Theatre minors, and a Paralegal Certificate. She also calls the little town of Westbrook, CT home and it was at her small high school that she found her love and passion for theatre.
Since freshman year, Tara has been a Spotlight Operator for The Wedding Singer, a Lightboard Operator for Thumbelina and Festival 2013: Melted into Air, an ASM for Festival 2012: Something Rich & Strange and Red Noses, a stage manager for MACBETH, a technical director for And Then There Were None, a scenic designer for The Magical Lamp of Aladdin and a director for Festival 2014: Sometimes by Chance. After serving on the board as the Managing Director of Technical Theatre for the past three semesters, Tara could not be more excited to take on the role of President for her final year in MCCTA.
Vice President: Ryan Pané
Ryan Pané is the Vice President of the Marist College Club of Theatre Arts. He is a Junior at Marist and is majoring in Media Studies and Production with a concentration in Tv/film and a minor in Journalism. Ryan has been involved with MCCTA since his first semester freshmen year, and it has been one of his best decisions. Ryan loves acting and theatre; he has been in many shows and aspires to participate in many more. Ryan is excited for the coming year and thinks that it will be the best yet.
Secretary: Austin Christensen
Austin Christensen is the Secretary for the Marist College Club of Theatre Arts. He is current junior majoring in Communications with a dual concentration in Radio/TV/Film and Journalism and a minor in Theatre. He has been involved with MCCTA since the beginning of freshman year performing onstage and working behind the scenes. He has performed in productions such Gypsy, And Then There Were None, and Our Town and worked in backstage positions such as run crew for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and house crew for The Vagina Monologues. He is honored to be serving alongside everyone on the e-board and looks forward to giving back to the club that means so much to him.
Treasurer: Mike Parisi
Michael Parisi is the Treasurer of the Marist College Club of Theater Arts (MCCTA). He is a current Junior majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Theater. Michael has been involved with MCCTA since his Freshman year both performing onstage and working behind the scenes. He has been involved with such productions: Red Noses, Macbeth, And Then There Were None, and Bonnie & Clyde. He was worked backstage on the shows; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Our Town. He is honored to be on the board working along side such talented and dedicated people.
Managing Director of Mainstage and Experimental Theatre: Katie Wilhelm
Katie is a junior at Marist College serving as the managing director of Mainstage and Experimental Theatre. She enjoys theatre and loves to dance the night away. She has been a part of several MCCTA productions throughout her time at Marist including Red Noses, Macbeth and most recently Godspell. She is honored to be a part of this board and looks forwards to seeing the amazing places MCCTA can go..
Managing Director of Dinner Theatre, Musicals, and Children'sTheatre: Emily Crescitelli
Emily Crescitelli is the Managing Director of Dinner, Musical, and Children’s Theatre of Marist College of Theatre Arts. She is a senior majoring in Media Studies and Production with a concentration in Television/Film, and a minor in Advertising. She was bitten by the theatre-bug in elementary school, and has been involved with MCCTA since the moment she stepped on campus her freshman year.
While Emily is a major drama queen off-stage, she prefers to stay behind the curtain working as a stage manager and production manager with MCCTA. Some of her past credits include The Magical Lamp of Aladdin (Production Manager), And Then There Were None (Production Manager), Letters to Dad- Festival 2014 (Director), Shipwrecked!(Stage Manager), Thumbelina (Production Manager), The Wedding Singer (Assistant Stage Manager), and that one time she briefly stepped out of retirement and played a role she was born to play - a sassy/slutty princess duringTairyfale – Festival 2012. She is so excited for the upcoming year with MCCTA, and cannot wait to convert everyone into true MCCTA-ians!
Managing Director of Technical Theatre: Curtis Brauner
Chairperson of Publicity: Nicole Musto
Nicole Musto is the Chairperson of Publicity for the Marist Club of Theater Arts. She is from Wyckoff, NJ and a current senior (still in denial) majoring in Advertising, a minor in Graphic Design, and a certificate in Art and Advertising design. She has been involved in MCCTA since the first week of freshman year when she kept asking everyone when the theater club met and when auditions were till she found her family. She is honored to be on the e-board and give back to a club that has given her so much.
Nicole has been dancing since the age of 2 and joined the theater world during her sophomore year in high school. At Marist, she has performed in several productions, her favorite being Thumbelina. She has also been props master and publicity representative for several productions. Nicole cannot wait for the up-coming season and thinks you should all be a part of as many production as you can while at Marist!
Chairperson of Production Management: Nadine Choucri
Chairperson of Costumes and Makeup: Briann Newman
Briann Newman is the Chairperson of Costumes & Makeup for the Marist College Club of Theater Arts. She is currently in her third year at Marist majoring in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology. Before even getting to Marist, Briann knew she would be a part of MCCTA. Since she’s been here, she has assisted with costumes for Gypsy, And Then There Were None, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, as well as worked as the costume designer for The Magical Lamp of Aladdin. Briann is so excited to be a member of the MCCTA board and to make sure everyone looks fabulous up on stage!
Chairperson of Box Office and House: Mena Buscetto
Mena Buscetto is the Chairperson of Box Office and House for the Marist College Club of Theatre Arts. She is a current sophomore with a double major in English-Theatre and Adolescent Education, and a minor in Creative Writing. She is Theatre Scholarship Recipient, and has been involved with MCCTA since her first semester of freshmen year. Mena has been performing since the age of two. Before coming to Marist she performed in over thirteen musicals with her theatre company in her hometown of Waterford, Connecticut. At Marist, she has performed in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Festival 2014, and worked the sound board for Our Town. Theatre at Marist was the best part of her freshmen experience and she can’t wait for all of you to join our MCCTA family!
