Phi Alpha Theta

Phi Alpha Theta Conference

This year the Phi Alpha Theta Conference will be held on April 6th at Hartwick College. It is a great opportunity to have a formal presentation on your rsume or curriculum vitae, receive feedback on your work from peers and faculty in a collegial setting, and there are even prizes available for presenters.

Papers are open to all topics and periods of history. Students do NOT have to be a member of Phi Alpha Theta to present a pepare. However, only members can be selected for the awards given for the best papers presented at the conference. Gerenally, papers should be 20 min. (about 10-12 pages). It is encouraged that you present a longer paper you did for a prior class, or one for a current class that will be in its final stages by the conference.

Please consult with your professors about your papers and send your contact information, title, and abstract to by Monday, March 5th.

There is a possibility of carpooling from Marist to the conference. Phi Alpha Theta students from Plattsburgh are willing to host an overnight stay. Also, Marist has Student Research Grants available that are open for conference travel as well; please speak to your professors and check out this link:

On April 6th, five students represented Marist College at the 2013 Phi Alpha Theta Conference! Congratulations to all participants as the presentations recieved compliments from a multitude of panel judges! What a great way to represent our school!
