Originally from Levittown New York, Andrew is a dual Math/Adolescence Education and Communication/Radio-TV-Film major with a minor in Psychology. At Division Avenue High School, Andrew served as Student Council President, and graduated in every Honor Society that Division offered. At Marist, Andrew was instrumental in starting the Student Booster Club. Under his leadership as President of the club, the Student Booster Club went from a theoretical idea to one of the largest and most successful clubs on campus. The success of the Student Booster Club and the invent of “The Foxhole” and “Red Fox Nation” has helped intensify the atmosphere at home athletic events, which has been noted by many distinguished critics, including ESPN. Andrew has also served as President of the NRHH and President of his Residence Hall Council his freshman year. Andrew is involved with Residential Life through his work as an RA, winning several Programmer of the Semester awards, and was part of a committee that helped bring a regional conference to Marist. Andrew has presented award-winning programs on leadership development at the local, regional and national levels, and has attended several leadership conferences throughout his tenure at Marist. Andrew has also been a committee member of the Marist College Dining Advisory Committee, as well as the Standing Committee on Athletics. Andrew is a three-year veteran of SGA, serving as a Resident Senator for 5 semesters and helped bring the concept of a Residence Hall Association to Marist College. April Bourlier is currently a senior, studying Fashion Merchandising and Business. Before coming to Marist, April attended Roxbury High School in Succasunna, New Jersey. In high school, April was Captain of her Varsity Cheerleading Squad, was the Varsity Wrestling Statistician, served as Vice President of National Honor Society and Secretary of the General Student Council. April prides herself on being a perfectionist and loves to get involved, as most people can agree with her efforts on the Marist campus. April has been on the Dean’s List every semester, is a model in the Silver Needle Fashion Show, is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, a member the of the National Residence Hall Honorary, and a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society. Currently, April is a Freelance Visual Merchandising Assistant for Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A Inc. in NYC. April has also been a member of the Executive Board for the Student Booster Club since its inception, and has helped raised over $100,000 for St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital over the course of the last three years, serving as Executive Director this past year. Shalyn Baum is a member of the Class of 2014, double majoring in Fashion Merchandising and English Literature with a business minor. She is from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she attended a performing arts high school specializing in theatre. In addition to acting, Shalyn loves writing, modeling, reading, film, traveling, shopping, and hanging out with her friends. On campus, she is involved in Campus Ministry, Fashion Inc., MCCTA, as both a general member and part of the costume crew, and served on Student Government as the Representative to the School of Communication and the Arts for SAC. As the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Shalyn will be the student voice on the Academic Affairs Council, chair the Student Academic Council, and focus on both academic issues and events, including the Faculty of the Year. Born in Milford Massachusetts right outside of Boston, Dylan is the younger of two children. Following his decision to enroll at Marist College in the class of 2014 as a Communications major with an emphasis in advertising, Dylan became immediately involved with several campus activities. He is a member of the Student Booster Club E-Board, served as the Public Relations Chair for the Sheahan Residence Hall Council, and was starting member of the club volleyball team. Dylan has also been a radio host for WMAR, is a member of the advertising club and is a member on countless intramural sports teams. At Milford High School, Dylan was a two-sport varsity athlete, receiving school letters in football and volleyball. A co-captain for his volleyball team, Dylan made three all-star teams his senior year. Dylan is a hardworking, motivated individual who will excel in his position as VP of Athletics next year. Now, Dylan is excited for the new opportunities that await through Student Government, as he has recently been named the Vice President of Athletic Affairs. When not doing homework or club activities, Dylan enjoys playing sports, particularly golf and basketball. Sports are a major part of Dylan’s life, simply because they prove that any day something great can happen, and the time is always right for an underdog to make an upset. Brian Gelok is a Business Administration major with an emphasis in Finance, and he is currently the Vice President of Club Affairs. Brian is a member of the Class of 2013, and he is from Haverstraw, New York. Besides being the Vice President of Club Affairs, Brian is a Resident Assistant, a member of campus ministry, MCCTA, plays on three intramural sports teams, the Leo RHC advisor, sits on the Dining Hall Committee, and he is a member of the Class of 2013 executive board. Through his time at Marist, Brian has served as a Junior Senator and the Treasurer for the Class of 2013. He has also served as the head of two Social Networking projects to raise money for a non-profit children’s organization. Brian loves Marist, Disney, McDonald’s, sports, and the New York Yankees. He is extremely out-going, and he looks forward to working with everybody on the Club Affairs Council next year. As a freshman, Kaylyn Hamel is currently leaning towards a graphic design and digital media major, but is currently undecided. She was born in Pittsfield Massachusetts in 1992 and has resided there her whole life. On campus, she finds joy in her role as a volunteer for the Vassar Warner Home; spending time with the residents provides some of the most rewarding feelings (not to mention many funny stories.) Kaylyn is also the president of Marian Hall Residence Hall Council, a member of Habitat for Humanity, and enjoys drawing and sketching in her free time. Her artwork has been displayed in multiple galleries ranging from Boston to her hometown of Pittsfield, a fact that she is very proud of. Last year she was honored with a gold medal in the Boston Globe art awards and hopes to continue creating art throughout her life. She has many hopes of giving students more opportunities to get off campus and enjoy the surrounding areas. Courtney Seto is a Public Relations major with a minor in Studio Art for the class of 2012. She is from Northern New Jersey (but don’t try and ask her anything about the area as she has always claimed to be a New Yorker in heart.) Courtney has recently become the President of the Student Programming Council (SPC) and anticipates many queries about the fall concert, only to continuously respond that she is in fact, the headlining act. She also co-hosts a weekly radio show where she plays mostly alternative and indie music while sharing many a terrible anecdote. In her free time, Courtney enjoys going to concerts, being an art dork, and traveling. She hopes to take campus events to the next level through SPC, as well as in the role of Vice President of Student Programming. Alyssa K. Bradt is a Senior, but prefers not to think about leaving Marist. She is from upstate New York (Saratoga County) and spent over ten years as a competitive figure skater prior to graduating from Shenendehowa High School with multiple honors and awards. She is now majoring in Business Administration/Human Resource Management with a minor in Psychology, and continues to excel academically. Alyssa has been on the Financial Board since her first semester in Fall 2008 and became the Chief Financial Officer in January 2010. After serving for Steve Townsend and Matt Lubrano during her Sophomore and Junior years, she is the only member of the Paulsen Administration that was appointed to the Executive Board for a third time. As the CFO, she works with all chartered clubs and organizations at Marist by authorizing expenditures and processing monetary-related requests. However, Alyssa is passionate about improving all aspects of student life through other projects, so she is always willing to offer her opinions and insight or help plan an event! In addition to her roles in Student Government on the Financial Board and Executive Board, Alyssa has been the Class of 2012 Vice President, and is still involved with other clubs and organizations. As a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, she participates in activities on-campus and in the community, which contributes to her support of Greek Life as a whole. Michael is a Junior Information Technology major from outside of Burlington, VT.   He has been involved in many different activities and organizations at Marist, serving as the Vice President of the Student Programming Council, Assistant CIO, RHC President, Student Coordinator of the National Society of Leadership and Success/Emerging Leaders Program, member of the National Residence Hall Honorary and as CIO for the past year. Michael also worked at the Office of College Activities for nearly three years as a Building Manager and is now a Resident Assistant in Midrise. In his first year as CIO, Michael collaborated with Club Leaders to ensure their websites were up to date and assisted with other technology needs. He also worked with a group of other students developing the online Club Management System to move many club processes online in an easy-to-use way. Nicolette Spallanzani is a sophomore from Marlboro, New Jersey, and is majoring in Communications with a concentration in Radio/TV/Film. As Director of Communications, she will update the Marist Student Government Facebook page and Twitter account to promote campus wide events through the Internet. She is also interested in putting out a campus wide newsletter to inform the students what SGA has been accomplishing throughout the school year. In addition to being involved in SGA, she is a member of Campus Ministry, a member of the Resident Student Council, and plays intramural field hockey. Originally from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Becca Snodgrass is a Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations and is part of the Marist Class of 2013. Her major makes her a perfect fit for Student Government’s Director of Public Relations position. With excellent academics, Becca has been on the Dean’s List every semester at Marist. Becca is also the Recruitment Director for Sigma Sigma Sigma, the largest sorority on campus, and has been involved with Student Government for her entire career at Marist. Becca started first as a junior senator her freshman year, and most recently served as the Director of Public Relations for the Lubrano Administration. Chanel Vitale, originally from River Edge, New Jersey, is a Communications major with a concentration in Radio/ TV/ Film with minors in both Psychology and Photography. She works as a Resident Assistant on campus, is an Orientation Leader over the summer, is an active member Lambda Pi Eta, and is President of the NRHH. She has presented programs both on the local level here at Marist, as well as at the regional level at two NEACURH conferences. In her spare time, she enjoys taking road trips, trying new foods and restaurants, and photography. Chanel is really excited to serve as Historian for Student Government next year. Alex Makowski is a part of Marist College Class of 2014 and is currently studying to Major in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. She is from Wayne, New Jersey where she attended Wayne Valley High School before coming to Marist. At Marist, Alex is a Marist Ambassador, the Treasurer for the Class of 2014, a member of Campus Ministry and Student Booster Club, and she is a part of the Emerging Leaders Program. During high school, she was the Vice President of her senior class and a part of the National Honor Society. At Marist she was chosen to be a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and she was elected as the Treasurer of the Class of 2014 during the 2010-2011 term and the 2011-2012 term. During the Paulsen Administration, Alex will be in the position of Executive Assistant. During her free time Alex loves to sing and hang out with her friends.
