Ed Wozencroft

Chief Information Officer

Hey everyone, my name is Ed Wozencroft, and I'm a sophmore here at Marist. I'm an Information Technology and Systems major with a concentration in Systems, and a minor in Business Administration. As the Chief Information Officer, my goal is to facilitate the technological needs of our clubs and organizations, as well as provide an open channel of communication between our Information Technology department, and students.

Last semester I worked with our Information Technology department to implement a student Rideboard. I have also worked to improve the quality of club websites. I worked with President Zeyher, Executive Vice President Burke, and other key members of the Student Government Association, as well as club leaders, and administrators, to launch a successful campaign called Own What You Think. This campaign originally created at Princeton University, was adapted by Marist in order to create student awareness regarding anonymous online slander, and provide an outlet for students to deliver positive messages to each other. I have also worked to improve internal Student Government communication by working with our Academic Technology department to implement an iLearn project site in which we can share project ideas and have open communication outside of our office.

This semester I will be working with Web Development to initiate new club website standards and create an easier system for club webmasters to build websites. I will also be working with Chief Justice Wolowski, members of my board, and students from our Masters program within the school of Mathematics and Computer Science to strategize and implement a new, online parking appeal system to help students appeal tickets in a more modern fashion.

Student Government elections become a large topic this semester as well, and I will be working with Commissioner Struk and President Zeyher to ensure that everything runs as smooth as possible. I have also formed a new Information Technology Council that will be tackling new projects and ideas. They will work closely with me to help club webmasters as well.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me at sga.itc@marist.edu, phone extension 2206, or by stopping by the Student Government Office located in Student Center 347, across from College Activites.
