Marist Senate

The Student Senate is the legislative branch of Marist College Student Government Association, members are elected by the student body to act as their represenatives in the SGA.

Senate Meetings are held every Wednesday at 12:30 pm in SC347, all are welcome to attend.

Responsibilities

Each senator is elected to represent the Student Body. To this end Senators create committees to explore areas of interest to students such as satfy, security, housing or residential life. Senators are also expected to visit Resident Student Council meetings to keep in touch with their constituency.

Composition

The Senate is made up of four Resident Senators, two Commutor Senators, and the four Class Presidents. A Speaker of the Senate is elected early in the administration and acts as a guide to the rest of the senators throughout the term.
