The Marist College Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta is a campus club that represents an international organization that recognizes excellence in the English discipline.  We strive to provide cultural stimulation here at Marist College to promote interest in English language literature. We are an exclusive society that invites all English Majors and Minors enrolled at Marist College with a GPA of 3.6 or more to join us. 

Benefits of Sigma Tau Delta Membership

Once inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, members enjoy all the privileges of membership to any other Marist organization.  This includes the chance to earn up to two priority points per semester, a chance to further interact and network with fellow English majors and minors in an informal setting, opportunities to participate in any exciting events that have been scheduled, and a chance to step up into a leadership position as part of the Executive Board.  In addition, because Sigma Tau Delta is a nationally-recognized chapter, benefits extend far beyond the limited scope of Marist College.

All newly-inducted members will receive a membership certificate as well as a Sigma Tau Delta pin to be worn at graduation.  Cost of college got you down?  No worries! Members are given the chance to compete for several scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.  Furthermore, once inducted, you will have to opportunity to submit your own writing to the international conference.  Categories for submission include original fiction, original poetry, creative non-fiction, and critical essay.
