Scouting for Music

Our chapter is going into elementary schools to help the Girl Scouts learn about music as well as create their own instruments. This is a fun hands-on experience, and includes making rain sticks, jingle bell bracelets, and homemade guitars.

Project Protect Music

Project Protect Music is a TBS-sponsored project that collects all sorts of donations for public school music departments, from instruments to cases to repair tools to sheet music. We are currently organizing fundraisers to give to the Fender Music Foundation, a charity to strengthen the presence of music in schools.

Concert Ushering

Iota Alpha has been involved in the set-up, ushering, and breakdown for various concerts, including professional concerts at Marist such as the Storm King Trombone Ensemble and others. In addition, Iota Alpha was recently involved in assisting the Poughkeepsie Middle School at their Spring Concert in similar fashion, and hope to do so again in the future.

Setting Up/Cleaning Up Rehearsal Space

Before each band rehearsal, TBS, along with KKPsi, sets up the chairs, music stands, and music folders to provide a more efficient rehearsal.
